Chris Sault - Used Car Sales Manager  

What’s your favourite thing about being a Used Car Sales Manager at Lloyd Land Rover York?
"I get to work with some great people such as the sales execs, business managers, head of business and group buyers. York is a brilliant site, and I take a lot of pride in my position.  You get a lot of autonomy and people trust you to make the correct decisions which brings its own pressures but keeps the job exciting! Its cliché but no two days are the same!"    

What’s your favourite way to spend an evening after work?
"My favourite way to spend an evening is… usually in the gym or having a few beers with the team!"

What advice would you give to someone who’s just starting out in their career in the motor trade?
"Listen, don't rush and above all get to know your client, make the client like you."
 
Tell us something about yourself that most people won’t know.
"I compete nationally in Brazilian Karate."

Tom Thompson - Business Manager

Can you talk us through a typical day in your role as Business Manager at Lloyd Land Rover York?
"I will arrive in to the business and check what enquiries have come in overnight and allocate to the sales executives, I will then check what handovers we have going out that day and for the rest of the week, throughout the day I will keep in close contact with the sales executives to see where they are up to with the enquires, once a sales executive is ready for an offer to be put together for a client they will come and see me to do this, “putting together an offer” has various parts to it.. valuing the part exchange, putting together a tailor made personalised quotation for the client this could be a finance quotation or a cash alternative option."

What’s your favourite way to spend a weekend?
"I am a qualified level 1 FA coach and love spending my weekends off assisting my sons under 11’s football team. I also like to chill at home with my wife and two children and our little puppy Belle! Oh... and not forgetting going down the local pub for a few drinks with my friends!"

"No day is ever the same, great meeting different customers from different walks of life."

What’s one thing on your bucket list that you really want to do?
"To watch Crystal Palace lift the Premier League."

"I like working for Lloyd Land Rover York because I like working for a family business and it's close to home and my son."

"My first car Mk1 Golf GTI and I now drive a Range Rover Evoque."

What do you think is the most important quality for success as a Sales Executive?
"Being hungry to sell, if you haven’t got the hunger and the drive then you won’t be the best."

"The banter you can have with the team that makes the day go quicker."

What’s your favourite feature or innovation in today’s Land Rover models?
"That we sell cars that can have a fridge in! Who wouldn’t want to keep their drinks cold!"

What was your first car and what do you drive now?
"1 litre three cylinder Corsa was my first car and now I drive a Jaguar F-PACE!"

What has been a career highlight or standout moment for you so far during your time at Lloyd Motor Group?
"My stand out would be winning JLR apprentice of the year for 2024 client experience."

What's your favourite hobby or activity outside of work?
"One of my favourite hobbies is golf."
