Volvo EX40 triumphs as Mid-Sized SUV of the Year

The Volvo EX40 has been crowned the Mid-Sized SUV of the Year in the prestigious News UK Motor Awards. Announced at a presentation ceremony in London yesterday, the award reflects expert opinion across the media group’s publications and platforms, including The Sun, The Sunday Times and Driving.co.uk.

The EX40 displays Volvo’s cool, contemporary styling inside and out, matching this to equipment specifications that meet all the priorities of today’s consumers. For example, the entry-level Core versions include wireless phone charging, a rear parking camera, powered tailgate and a 9.0-inch central touchscreen with built-in Google functions. Mid-level Plus versions add an energy-saving heat pump, advanced air-purification system, a heated steering wheel and safety awareness technologies including BLIS blind spot monitoring and Cross Traffic Alert.

Choice is a key element in the EX40’s market appeal, with a current line-up that features five equipment grades and four electric powertrains with two- or all-wheel drive. The powertrain options allow customers to select the balance of power and range that best suits their driving needs: Single Motor, Single Motor Extended Range, Twin Motor and Twin Motor Performance offer a maximum driving range of between 296 and 343 miles*.
