We have a real following of customers who know our cars all come from part exchanges within Lloyd Motor Group, and are all supplied with 12 months’ warranty and roadside assistance. It’s a busy little site, but everyone there helps each other and has a real team ethos!”

What’s one thing on your bucket list that you really want to do?
“A bungee jump is on my bucket list as I’ve done a skydive. The older I’m getting the more scared I am!”

Martin Wolf – Sales Executive
Talk us through a typical day in your role.

Andrew Kirk – Senior Sales Executive

What’s your favourite way to relax after a busy workday?
"I have a 45-minute drive home, so this is my relaxing time before getting home to my wife and 3 young boys! I enjoy a game of golf and spending time with my family, and the odd pint”.
…And Kyle & Reece!

Meet Barbara, Our Sales Administrator!
Barbara McBurnie – Sales Administrator
Talk us through a typical day in your role as Sales Administrator.
“A typical day would start with the banking from the previous day, uploading the deals to our systems. Our Sales Team meeting is at 8.30am (prompt) – in these meetings I get all the information I need for the next two days for invoicing cars to our customers.
“My emails are always busy with vehicle purchases from within Lloyd Motor Group – every day differs with how many. Through the day I will speak to other dealerships regarding dealer transfers and queries, speak to customers in the showroom and be the hostess with the mostess! It's always busy at Lloyd Used Car Centre”.
What’s your favourite way to spend a weekend?
“I have 2 horses, so a lot of my time is taken up with them, exercising and looking after them. I also have a 3-month-old grandson – I see him whenever I possibly can. Again, always busy!”
Meet Connor, our Aftersales Coordinator!
Connor McFarlane - Aftersales Coordinator
Why did you want to work for Lloyd Motor Group, and can you tell us about your career journey with us so far?
“I had not only heard how much of a great company it is to work for, I also wanted a full career change to the previous industries I had worked. I wanted something that would provide me with career progression, job stability, social gatherings and a work-life balance.
“When I joined the industry in 2018 as a vehicle progressor at Lloyd Honda, I was completely new to it, but came into it with an open mindset and was determined to absorb as much information as I could. I was a vehicle progressor for 2 years when an Aftersales Coordinator role became available. I sat down with Roy, our Head of Business, and had a chat, and agreed I would trial the job as a Coordinator. From the first couple of days, I was hooked and have never looked back since!
“This really hit home that Lloyd Motor Group, as big as we are, don’t lose sight of their staff’s goals and ambitions. It’s clear that the business's values are paramount and understood by everyone, and are at the heart of all directors, management and staff”.
Tell us something about yourself that most people won’t know.
“Where do I begin! I’m a Padbrat, which is an army term for Army Kid, so growing up life was hectic but also rewarding and humbling. I was born in Germany, and we moved around every time my dad got promotion or posting (Move), which was both exciting and emotional – this meant new schools, homes, and making new friends.
“Leaving friends every few years made me appreciate what I had around me and made me learn how to adapt. You grow up a lot quicker than most kids your age - my dad would sometimes be working away, so I learned how to become more responsible. The skills, mindset and determination are something I can take away from this, and that’s what has brought me to where I am today!"
Meet our Vehicle Progressors, Gary and Ben!
Ben Amato – Trainee Vehicle Progressor
Talk us through a typical day in your role.
“My typical day at Used Car Centre mainly involves helping the salesmen move cars as well as helping Gary get all new stock all up to date, making sure cars get valeted, getting cars photographed and updating all selling platforms”.
What superpower would you like to have and why?
"A superpower I would like would have to be something to do with Space and Time - being able to travel anywhere would be amazing".
Gary McDonald – Vehicle Progressor
What do you enjoy most about working at Lloyd Used Car Centre?
“Seven years ago, I started work at Lloyd BMW Carlisle valeting customer vehicles, and worked my way to being the first vehicle progressor at Lloyd Used Car Centre. The role can be demanding but it’s thoroughly enjoyable. Working with a small close-knit team is what makes the job so good”.
What's your favourite hobby or activity outside of work?
“I was previously a Baker for 20 years! I started an apprenticeship a well-respected Baker specializing in organic and gluten free produce, but I have always had a passion for vehicles - in particular Suzuki Motorbikes from the 80 and 90s.
“Other hobbies include spending time with my family which generally involves a lot of driving, usually to karate competitions up and down the country. I also recently returned from a 3000-mile road trip around Europe taking in sights in France, Belgum, Germany, Switzerland and Italy”.
