Jamie Turnbull- Sales Executive

Can you tell us about your career journey with us, from where you started to how you got to where you are today?
"I started in Sales at Lloyd Motor Group in February 2006 having spent the previous 4 years working as a Civil engineer on the Railway.  The transition to an office-based job was very strange at first but very soon it all felt very natural, and the role appealed to all my best attributes.  I have stayed working in sales from day one and I enjoy that the harder and more effectively I work, the more rewards I reap from this. I have created a large customer base and enjoy the daily interaction as it always keeps me on my toes".

Tell us something about yourself that most people won’t know.
"Most people don’t know that I played the piano from the age of 5 up until I was 18.  I passed 9 exams with the London college of music and had to show a high level of commitment, dedication and perseverance to get there. Although I haven’t touched the keys for a long time, learning a musical instrument to this level taught me a lot more than just being able to play. It taught me to not give up and to persevere and keep going at things, which are all attributes that help in my job today".

Kelly Aitchison- Sales Executive

The job role itself has given me many opportunities to grow skills and learn new things".

Emma Wilkinson - Senior Account Manager

What does a typical day in your role look like?
"The role can be very varied. We have fleet vehicles going out daily to end users, so I liaise with the valet team and ensure the cars are on site and ready for the delivery companies. I do a lot of quotations for customers and these quotes can be for Kia as well as our other brands. I can also propose and follow through with finance mainly on contract hire.  Appointments with the decision maker can be held at the dealership or we go out to the business itself and have a thorough meeting with them on their business site. It is not just fleet drivers, but we deal with business owners locally and nationally and service our own key accounts daily. I do deal with a lot of demo request and part of being a business specialist dealer means I can offer extended test drives to customers, either with the dealership demos, or the demo program through our Kia Business Centre".

What was your first car and what do you drive now?
"The first car I had was a lovely two-toned silver and blue Mark 1 Ford Fiesta. I bought it from a local garage at the time. I only had it a short period before I bought a Vauxhall Corsa SRi as my first car on finance. I now drive the Kia EV6 GT Line".
