Meet Key Account Manager, Rachael

Based at Lloyd Newcastle BMW, Rachael has been in the motor trade for 15 years, and has a wealth of expertise to help find the right car and finance solution for you and your business - whether you're a company car driver, small business owner, or have a national fleet. Tell us a little bit about yourself!

"Hi, I'm Rachael, I've worked within the motor industry for 15 years now and the last 9 years of that have been in Fleet and Business Sales. I've got an 18 month old son who keeps me very busy, and outside of work I love spending time doing nice things with my family".

What drew you to Lloyd Motor Group and your position as Key Account Manager?

"I really like that Lloyd Motor Group is a family-run business and they pride themselves on offering the highest level of customer service, as well as looking after and respecting and their staff. I was attracted to the role of Key Account Manager because I like to establish and maintain strong partnerships with my customers".

How long have you been in the role, and what qualities do you believe make a good Key Account Manager?

"I’ve been in the role of Key Account Manager with Lloyd Motor Group since July 2024. I believe a good Key Account Manager is someone who has excellent communication and can build strong relationships with customers, as well as understand their needs and be a good negotiator to ensure the best outcome for the customer".

What do you love most about your job?

"I love how varied my role is - I get to enjoy being part of a team in the office with my colleagues, but I’m also able to go out and visit customers at their place of work so I get the best of both worlds. In addition, as part of my role I do a lot of networking, which is great as it introduces me to other likeminded people and businesses which leads to some fantastic opportunities".

What has been the highlight when working with Lloyd Motor Group so far?

"I would have to say the highlight has been meeting so many lovely new people and colleagues. I cover all the brands that Lloyd Motor Group offer, so I get to visit our BMW, MINI, Kia, Volvo, Volkswagen and Land Rover sites, which is very interesting to learn about each brand".

What is your favourite car?

"This is a tough one because there are so many fantastic cars available, but I'd have to say that my favourite is the BMW M5 Touring".

Do you drive an EV? If so tell us about your experience.

"I don’t drive an EV currently, but I’ve been lucky enough to experience several during my career and my husband drives one, so we have one at home. I think they’re great - I love the performance they offer and there are so many options available now, so there really is something for everyone. The models and battery ranges are constantly improving so they’re only going to get better. They’re a brilliant option for a company car driver".

What are you most looking forward to for the next 12 months?

"I’m looking forward to becoming more established in my role, gaining new knowledge of the products and services we offer and working with new customers and businesses to see how I can assist them with their fleet requirements".
