Meet Fiona, Sales Executive at Lloyd Cockermouth BMW

Tell us a bit about yourself!

“Hi everyone, to those that don’t know me, my name is Fiona. I am lucky to have my forever job as Sales Executive here at Lloyd BMW Cockermouth.

“Outside of work, you will find me in my garden - my sanctuary! I love to pass my days pottering around trying to grow things, especially Dahlia’s, and yes… I do talk to all of my flowers! Apart from this I love holidays and travelling, seeing new spots and learning all about the places”.

 

Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you started your career at Lloyd BMW?

“I joined Lloyd BMW Carlisle in 2016, at the time when the new facilities were being built. It was a very exciting time to watch the new centre take shape. Previously, I had worked the last 18 years in Retail Management, which gave me the opportunity to travel the world and meet the most amazing people. Retail really is in my blood, and I wouldn’t want to do anything else.

“But when the opportunity came to join the team in Carlisle, I realised that my absolute passion in retail is spending time with customers, so this was a job for me, and something that I wanted to do when I was a lot younger, so I thought ‘Yes… let’s have a go and see what happens….’.

"Here I am, 8 and a bit years later, working in Lloyd BMW Cockermouth. This move was an amazing opportunity I grasped back in December 2023, which was a fresh challenge that brought me much closer to home and back to my west Cumbrian roots.”
 
 

What initially attracted you to join the team at Lloyd BMW?

“I have always worked for international companies, so the attraction to work for a local family-owned group was appealing, and obviously the product which was, and still is, an absolute dream to work with!”

 

What have been some of your most memorable achievements or successes in your sales career so far?

“Just reading my customers’ comments and feedback makes me feel proud, even better is when your customers become your friends… That’s success to me!”

 

What’s your favourite thing about the BMW brand?

“I absolutely love M performance, and the bright and happy colours that are available!"

 

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in sales or considering a career in this industry?

“Embrace it - you will learn so much about yourself, and the opportunities and experiences are simply fantastic!”
