Can you tell us about your background, and your journey to becoming Head of Business at Lloyd North Tyneside?

"Born and raised in South Africa, my career journey began in the accounting industry after school, where I spent three years before realising my passion for interacting with people outweighed working with numbers! I had a very keen interest in cars since the age of 3, and started collecting car magazines at the age of 5, and the fascination with cars continues to this day.

"A relocation to the UK in 2010 led to a career shift in 2013, when my passion was pursued by stepping into the industry as a Sales Executive with the Honda brand. 3 years into my career, an opportunity to develop as a manager presented itself, which led to leading a used car team at a large Toyota retailer in Edinburgh. 18 months later, following an acquisition of a BMW & MINI retailer, I was transferred to my dream brand and had the opportunity to grow and develop with a brand I absolutely love. During this time, my knowledge of the brand, people and customer satisfaction accelerated rapidly, and in January 2023 was handed the keys to run what was to become an award-winning BMW & MINI Retailer.

"When the opportunity to join Lloyd Motor Group as Head of Business at Lloyd North Tyneside arose, it was clear that this was the next step in my career. I'm humbled to join such an amazing business driven by a 'people comes first' philosophy, and this relates to both our customers and staff".

What is the most rewarding part of leading the dealership, and what do you believe sets Lloyd North Tyneside apart from other dealerships?

"There are many rewarding aspects of the role on a daily basis. Top of the list would be the people in the business, developing and growing a team of people that share a similar vision and working together to achieve our goals. A great customer satisfaction survey result that compliments our team and shows love for the BMW & MINI brand is another one of the rewarding aspects of the role".

"To be the number one retailer in the country for customer satisfaction and build the best team in the industry. I believe if you have a happy and successful team, you will have great customer service and satisfaction".
 

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

"Attitude is everything - whether you think you can or think you cannot, you are right!"
 

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you outside of work?

"I have a huge appreciation for great South African wines and obviously, a braai (BBQ)! Probably not a surprise..."
