Meet David Stuart, Head of Business at Lloyd BMW Newcastle

Recently, one of the members of our team that has progressed is David Stuart. David was previously our General Sales Manager for BMW and MINI in Newcastle and is now our Head of Business at Lloyd BMW Newcastle.
In his spare time, David enjoys playing golf, which is an industry that crosses over with business quite regularly. David has managed to make this crossover himself with Lloyd BMW Newcastle's partnership with Close House Golf Club, based in the Newcastle area. This partnership is a special one due to the shared values between Lloyd BMW and Close House, with David commenting, 'Close House offers the same experience I want people to have when they visit our dealership'.

Tell us a bit about your career at Lloyd Motor Group
I’ve been in the BMW/MINI Network since 2007 and worked for Lloyd Motor Group for 11 years, starting as a Used Car Manager, before my roles as General Sales Manager at Carlisle and Newcastle. I’m now thrilled to have taken on the role of Head of Business at Lloyd BMW Newcastle.
You have been in the role for 6 months now, what is your favourite thing about your role so far?
"My favourite thing about the Head of Business role is the people. I get to work with a variety of wonderful people and am able to support them in their role and department".
What advice would you give to someone looking to start their career in the motor industry?
The motor trade is an extremely exciting and dynamic industry, that is always growing and changing. I wouldn’t have any hesitation in recommending the industry to anyone.
What has been the biggest change in the motor industry since you started?
Since I started in the motor industry, the biggest change has been the electrification of vehicles. It’s having a huge impact on the industry, with the cars evolving rapidly, and the market continuing to grow.
What is your favourite thing about the brand?
My favourite thing about the brand is the wide range of models. BMW offer a wide range of premium vehicles, with amazing engineering and performance on show. Personally, I particularly like the ‘M’ models.
What are you looking forward to getting your teeth into first at Lloyd Newcastle?
I’m most looking forward to growing and developing the business. David Lewins put his stamp on BMW Newcastle for a long time, and I’m thrilled to now take on the role and see where I can take it.
