Rosie always packs a punch!
Lloyd Select Kelso is proud to sponsor rising star Rosie Swailes. The 15-year-old champion boxer is a two-time British and Scottish Champion and with eyes on the prize competes nationally and internationally for Scotland.
International travel to Sweden, Hungary, Bosnia and Slovenia makes for a busy schedule, we sat down with Rosie to find out more about how she got into boxing and what some of her goals look like in the future.
How long have you been boxing and what was your reason for getting into the sport?
Rosie: "I’ve been boxing for 8 years. I started because my brother went and I wanted to improve my fitness."
How many times do you train per week and what is your favourite part of the training?
Rosie: "I train 6 days a week with 3 of these days being with the Scotland next-generation squad and my favourite part of training is sparring."
You have been competing since 2022, where has your favourite competition been?
Rosie: "My favourite competition I’ve been to so far is the GB tri-nations at Sophia gardens where I won my 2nd British title"
What is the next competition you have lined up?
Rosie: "My next competition is on the 16th of February where I will box for Scotland against England in Glasgow."
You have been very successful so far in your boxing career, what are your aspirations in the future?
If someone asked about getting into boxing, what would you recommend?
