Lloyd Select Kelso Sponsor Future Football Stars
Lloyd Select Kelso continues its support of the local community by sponsoring Kelso FC U14s, helping the next generation of young footballers. Since the start of the year, the team have proudly sported branded hoodies featuring the Lloyd Select Kelso logo, thanks to a £500 sponsorship contribution.
Kelso FC U14s, made up of 17 talented young players, competes in the South East Region Youth Football Association (SERYFA) Division 3A League and is currently performing impressively, sitting in third place in the table. This Sunday, they will face Currie Star Blues in the Division Three cup at home in what promises to be an exciting fixture.
The team is guided by a dedicated coaching trio—Logan Watson, Darryn Rutherford, and Dave Berry—who provide stability and continuity by staying with their year group as they progress through the age categories. This approach ensures that players receive consistent coaching and development, fostering both individual and team growth.
During the season, the squad trains twice a week and competes in matches every Sunday, following SERYFA’s mission to provide a structured platform for young players to develop their skills, tactical awareness, physical strength, and mental toughness through competition. Players start their journey in small-sided games, progressing from 4-a-side to 7-a-side before stepping up to 11-a-side football.
Logan Watson, who not only serves as a coach but also works as an assistant Bodyshop manager at Lloyd Bodyshop Kelso, expressed his enthusiasm for the sponsorship:
