Lloyd MINI Local Influencers: Crooklands Hotel push towards more sustainable tourism and experience the MINI Electric
Crooklands Hotel, based only 4 miles from Kendal, is an excellent option for traveler’s visiting the Lakes District and Yorkshire Dales. The family run hotel offers not just accommodation, but is also home to two restaurants and 3 functions room, and renowned in the local area for both the exquisite home cooked food and the service the team delivers to guests.
Chris and Gemma, who head up the team at Crooklands, recently took part in the Lloyd MINI Local Influencers series.
The local influencers series sees local companies experience and share with us what making the switch to electric driving is really like, and the timing was perfect as making the switch to electric was already on Crooklands radar, as part of their commitment towards a more sustainable tourism environment. They’ve already partnered with Green Tourism and, during the week they experienced the MINI Electric, were undergoing a survey to have electric charging points installed at the hotel.
Read Chris and Gemma’s feedback about their electric driving experience below.
How did you find driving the MINI Electric?
The range was ample for what we used it for. Driving to work and back, picking the kids up, nipping to the shops. We only charged it once during our week.
What did you think of driving the MINI Electric?
Different to what we are used to! But we soon got used to it and all really enjoyed driving the MINI, the car felt solid, smooth and really responsive. The interior was also excellent, very luxurious compared to other electric cars we have seen.
How easy did you find charging the MINI Electric?
Very easy, we only used the 3-pin plug at home which was so simple. I imagine if we had a electric charger it would be even easier.
Do you think you’ll be making the switch for your next car?
Quite possibly, we're actually going to look into the possibility of one of these exact models.
