Lloyd BMW South Lakes announce new charity partnership
Lloyd BMW South Lakes proudly announce partnership with Bay Search and Rescue.
Lloyd BMW South Lakes are delighted to announce a new charity partnership with Bay Search and Rescue. Since 1999 Bay Search and Rescue, a volunteer team and charity based in Flookburgh, have been working away very quietly, but very hard, solving some of the problems faced by Rescuers when trying to safely navigate the unpredictable sands of Morecambe Bay. And then once navigated how to best extract those unfortunate men, women, children, animals and vehicles trapped by the notorious sands, before the next tide! But these efforts are now just not confined to the bay and the team now respond when needed across South Cumbria and North Lancashire. Having funding in place for all of this makes everything they do possible. Without it they would just not be able to continue operations.
General Manager, Abigail Shepherd said:
“We are delighted and excited to begin our fundraising journey with Lloyd BMW. We are predominantly self funded from the proceeds of our three charity shops and generous donations from the public. It is an ongoing task ensuring our 20 operation team volunteers have the correct kit, qualifications and resources to go out and do there job in our communities. The team are on call 24/7 365 days a year and can be tasked to support any of the emergency services with our specialist vehicles, equipment and skills. It’s very important to us to be recognised by a company as Lloyd BMW as a key business in our community and a re very grateful for there support”
Station Officer, Gary Parsons added:
“Bay search and Rescue would like to offer there sincere thanks to Lloyd BMW for naming us as their charity of the year. We really appreciate being supported by local businesses."
Aftersales Manager John Stephens commented on the partnership:
For every customer who completes a BMW or MINI customer survey, we will donate £1 to Bay Search and Rescue on your behalf. Again, the charity rely heavily on donations to remain operational, so all donations are welcome.
If you would like the opportunity to support Bay Search and Rescue as well as your survey, the charity regularly advertises all upcoming fundraising events on their website. They also have three fantastic charity shops, in Milnthorpe, Kendal and Grange-over-Sands.
