Lloyd AllRoad sponsors Tyler at Carlisle Rugby Club

Company News

We caught up with Tyler Callaghan, Vehicle Progressor at Lloyd AllRoad, to find out more about his role... and his rugby success!

Hello Tyler, can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your role as a Vehicle Progressor at Lloyd AllRoad?

“I started at AllRoad last June and as part of my role, I check vehicles into stock, organise forecourt standards including valets and presentation of the site and advertise our stock. When I am up to date with my progressor jobs and all our vehicles are advertised online, I also talk to customers and have started selling vehicles as a secondary role.”

Talk us through a typical day at work in your role?

"A typical day starts with a full site check making sure we are meeting presentation standards; this includes making sure vehicles are lined up and price boards are clearly presented. Then as a small knit team we have our morning meeting to discuss the plan of action of the day. I’ll check through stock to see what needs done to various vehicles i.e. valets, cosmetic prep, workshop prep etc."

"As a team we make sure all vehicles are in a condition to photograph for adverts, of which either me or Ben will take and upload to advertise for sale. The otherside to my job is managing my diary and giving customers a pleasant and easy buying experience with Lloyd AllRoad.”

When did you first start playing rugby, and what position do you play?

"I'm currently playing in my third season so just over two years. I started on the wing but have now transitioned to a flanker/back row"

Do you have any personal goals related to rugby, either in terms of skill improvement or competition?

"My personal goal would be to make county level rugby at some stage."

What do you think are the most important qualities for a successful rugby player?

"Discipline, thick-skin, and good drinking tolerance 😉"

Can you tell us about a standout match or moment on the pitch so far?

"A standout match would be to play in a county cup final albeit being a loss was a good experience. A standout moment on the pitch would be playing alongside my twin and another set of identical twins."

What advice would you give to someone who is considering taking up rugby?

I would advise them to get involved, the sport is for all shapes, sizes and abilities. It also offers more than just playing rugby with good social events.
