James wins JLR Client Experience Apprentice of the Year!

Congratulations to our Jaguar Land Rover York apprentice James Rhodes, on winning the coveted 2024 JLR Client Experience Apprentice of the Year Award. 

The prestigious Client Experience Award is given to those who have excelled within their chosen field, giving recognition for their outstanding performance and commitment to our Modern Luxury ethos and client excellence.

James attended the exclusive 2024 Retail Apprentice Graduation earlier this month at Gaydon, taking home the sought-after title.

We caught up with him to learn more about this exciting achievement...


Congratulations James, how do you feel after winning the Client Experience Apprentice of the Year award?   

"I feel surprised and honoured, I definitely wasn’t expecting it so I’m still processing it."


Tell us about the day of the Retail Apprentice Graduation?                                               

"From start to finish, the graduation day was fantastic. Having the opportunity to visit the JLR HQ and see behind the scenes of business operations was really insightful. We also had the chance to take part in a range of fun activities such as off-road and track driving. I drove a Land Rover Defender, through deep water, hill descent assist, and vertical ascent. The track driving was a particular favourite, getting to drive over 100MPH. We finished the day with a presentation ceremony, where I was given my award. I enjoyed the whole experience." 


What is the biggest takeaway you have learnt from your Apprenticeship?                    

"I have loved having the opportunity to learn and develop different service skills through the on-the-job training. I feel that this has helped me to gain a deeper understanding of the JLR product and overall business operations."


What advice would you give someone thinking of starting a JLR Apprenticeship?               

"I would say just go for it, It’s the best decision I’ve made. The opportunities for progression and support that I have received both nationally and from my York team has been incredible. I am excited to see where my JLR service journey will take me next."


What’s next for you in your training journey?                                           

"Going forward my main focus is to continue progressing to become a qualified Service Advisor. Winning the Client Experience Award has given me extra motivation to keep learning and developing my skills, to provide our service customers with the standard they deserve and expect."
