Introducing the next generation of experts at Lloyd Bodyshop Carlisle. 

At Lloyd Bodyshop, we are dedicated to providing the next wave of Bodyshop technicians and staff with the support and knowledge they require to reach their full potential.

With use of our state-of-the-art workshop and access to the latest industry equiptment, we proudly offer aspiring technicians first- class manufacturer training and the opportunity to work with some of the UK's leading premium brands. 

Seen here are some of our youngest members of our Carlisle Bodyshop team. As part of their training, they currently work alongside our award-winning team of experts, mastering the skills essential to a successful career within the trade.

Meet Ewan Magri- Apprentice Paint Technician 

Meet Trainee Painter, Ewan Magri

Why did you want to work for Lloyd Bodyshop?

“I started my Lloyd Bodyshop journey as a valeter at one of our other Lloyd sites, which I really enjoyed. I knew I wanted to progress, so when I saw a vacancy came up at the Bodyshop for an Apprentice Paint Technician, I applied straight away and was successful. I am really enjoying my role so far.”

What would you say is the standout facility at Lloyd Bodyshop Carlisle?

“At Lloyd Bodyshop we are given access to the latest industry equipment and use of a fantastic state-of-the-art workshop, including our new SMART centre. This helps us to ensure every job is carried out to the highest standard and is manufacturer approved.”

Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?

“In five years’ time I aim to be a fully qualified Paint Technician. The manufacturer training that is available to us at Lloyd Bodyshop could even take me to Senior Paint Technician with hard work and time.”

Meet Apprentice Painter, Sam Kenny

 

Hi Sam, tell us about your Lloyd career so far?

“My career with Lloyd has been amazing so far. I've had the chance to meet so many talented people, who have guided and supported me. I look at my career progression as one big learning curve and I hope to continue to grow and succeed within my current role.”

What advice would you give someone looking to start their career at Lloyd Bodyshop?

“I would tell them to just go for it, I promise you won't look back. Lloyd Bodyshop feels like one big family, we are always helping each other out and it’s a really great working environment. As long as your hard working and committed, you’ll love it!”

What is your most valuable skill you feel you’ve learnt so far?

“The most valuable skill I have learnt is how to work as a team and how to work efficiently. At Lloyd Bodyshop, we pride ourselves on the quality of our repairs and I always strive to deliver the high standard expected of me on every one of my jobs.”

What is your favourite car you’ve worked on?

“This is a difficult question since I am car mad. Every day in the workshop I get to see something nice, but if I have to pick one, it will have to be a E92 BMW M3 V8. However, I would love the chance to work on a classic MINI Cooper S.”

What inspired you to become a Panel Apprentice?

“I have always loved cars and working on them. I thought it would be interesting to learn how to repair the bodywork and see the process step by step of restoring a car to its full potential.”

What is the team like at Lloyd Bodyshop Carlisle?

Friendly, talented and always there to help you when you need it.”

What has been your standout highlight so far whilst working at Lloyd Bodyshop Carlisle?

“Hands down getting to meet my team, who teach me the thing I enjoy the most. Everyone at Lloyd is so passionate about the motor/repair trade and having that knowledge and expertise passed down has been invaluable. I really do feel like I’m learning from the best.”

Meet Trainee Estimator, Sam Simpson

Meet Trainee Estimator, Sam Simpson

Hi Sam, tell us about your role as Trainee Estimator.

"My role is to assess the damage on customer vehicles and give them an estimated price for the repairs, whether it be for insurance purposes or for them to pay for themselves. My daily duties involve checking in customers vehicles which are booked in, creating estimates and sending them to the relevant party, checking up on jobs which are currently in and handing over the repaired cars back to the customer."

What training is available at Lloyd Bodyshop?

"So far, the training available has included; systems training, which was offsite with an external company teaching me how to use the software which the insurance companies use to price estimates which includes annual refreshers and brand training via video conference for BMW."
