From the Middle East to the North East, meet our new Estimator at Lloyd Bodyshop Newcastle, Anthony De Melo.
Anthony, tell us a bit about your background.
I am originally from Goa in India, but I was born, lived and worked in Kuwait before recently moving to Newcastle.
Talk us through a typical day in your role.
A typical day in my role includes creating estimates on any jobs that come into the Bodyshop, I also keep up to date with information from the Insurance Companies, as well as keeping the customers up to date on their vehicle’s progress. When required, my role can also occasionally be very hands on!
What has been the biggest change in the motor industry since you started?
Since I started in the industry, you now see much more developed electronics in vehicles, with a big push towards EV’s and Hybrids. Cars are also more connected to you now via smart devices.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know.
Something about me that I don’t think most people would know is that I’m very adventurous!
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
What I enjoy doing in my spare time depends on the weather here! I enjoy going on a walk around town or by the coast or even a nice long drive.
