Dealer Administrator Becky is Celebrating 10 Years at Lloyd Volvo Carlisle!
Congratulations on 10 years at Lloyd Volvo Carlisle, Becky! Tell us a bit about yourself.
"My name is Becky, I’ve worked at Lloyd Motor Group for 12 years in total, but 10 years with Volvo Carlisle. I have 2 small children who keep me busy when I’m not at work. We like getting out and about seeing friends and family and exploring new places. I absolutely love music and make sure I attend a concert whenever I can - over the last few years I've been to a lot of rock concerts, my favourite being Metallica!"
Can you tell us about your career journey with us, from where you started to how you got to where you are today?
"I started with Lloyd Motor Group in 2010 at Land Rover Carlisle as a Showroom Host. I was there for 2 years where I met a lot of people who I'm proud to call my close friends now. A couple of years later in 2014 I started at Lloyd Volvo Carlisle as a Service Advisor. I knew very quickly that this is where I would end up staying!"
What’s your favourite thing about your role at Lloyd Volvo Carlisle?
"The customers! I absolutely love meeting new people and Volvo customers are just great people, with fantastic stories! Since coming back from having my children I also do a lot of administration work - it’s a nice variety".
Can you share a memorable moment or achievement during your time at Lloyd Volvo that stands out as a highlight?
"I will never forget winning the opportunity to go to the Formula One in 2017, full hospitality! It was an incredible weekend starting with activities on the Saturday (sheepdog herding and shooting) followed by a night out in Oxford and then the day at Silverstone on the Sunday, still one of my favourite weekends!"
What advice would you give to someone who’s just starting out in their career in the motor trade?
"Just go for it! It’s a really fast paced industry with changes happening all the time. There are so many different areas to work within, too. The people are like no other, but in the best way possible".
What’s your favourite way to spend a weekend?
"With Paul and the kids, taking off and exploring somewhere new!"
What’s one thing on your bucket list you’re determined to tick off?
"I'd love to go on a flight in a helicopter - I don’t know where to, but I've just always wanted to do it!"
What’s a fun fact about you that your colleagues might not know?
"I played the alto saxophone for many years".
