Payroll Assistant / Administrator

Due to continued growth within the business, an exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Assistant / Administrator to join the Payroll and HR team at Lloyd Motor Group based in Carlisle.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the manager in all payroll administrative tasks related to processing monthly payrolls for 1,200 + employees (divided into 20 payroll companies). Main duties shall include: -

• Maintain and review the payroll inbox, ensuring that any queries are answered in a professional and timely manner.
• Process Starters and Leavers information.
• Process sickness absence information.
• Check Mileage Return Forms and Expenses for Head Office payroll.
• Assist with processing monthly payrolls using Moorepay software.
• Check payslips against information submitted by the Retailer Accountants.
• Produce monthly Staff Turnover Report.
• Other ad hoc administrative duties to support the wider HR Team e.g. Reference requests, stationery order, filing and scanning.

Ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes: -

• Previous experience / knowledge of payroll is desirable.
• Accuracy and ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to use initiative and work unsupervised at times.
• A great team player, working alongside others with integrity, positivity and respect.
• Confidentiality and discretion are a must.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• IT literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook). Previous experience of using a payroll software would be advantageous.

Hours: 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.)

Flexibility on hours of work will be considered.

Salary: Between £23,000 – £25,000 Per Annum (FTE/DOE)
