AdBlue Refills
It is important that your AdBlue levels are maintained, as you cannot start the engine without it.
What is AdBlue?
AdBlue is a non-toxic, colourless, odourless and non-flammable solution that helps minimise the amount of Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) being produced by certain diesel engines. This innovative solution is poured into a dedicated tank in the car.
By using AdBlue, which chemically converts Nitrogen Oxide into harmless Nitrogen (N2) and Water (H20), you can reduce the amount of emissions being created and have less impact on the environment.

AdBlue FAQs
Benefits of AdBlue and Usage in Diesel Vehicles
AdBlue technology is increasingly found in modern diesel cars and vans, playing a crucial role in reducing harmful exhaust emissions.
Which Vehicles Use AdBlue?
While many newer diesel vehicles incorporate AdBlue technology, its use varies by manufacturer and model. Not all diesel cars feature this system. Look for a blue-capped AdBlue refill point near the fuel cap, in the engine bay, or in the boot. If unsure, consult your owner’s manual or visit your local Lloyd centre, where our expert technicians can assist you.
Maintaining AdBlue Levels
If your car uses AdBlue, regular top-ups are essential to prevent your vehicle from entering limp mode or failing to start. A dashboard warning light will alert you when AdBlue levels are low.
To ensure you have enough AdBlue, consider booking a 4-liter top-up online. Additional increments can be purchased in-center as needed.
How is AdBlue Used in Diesel Cars? AdBlue is injected into the exhaust system of diesel vehicles to reduce harmful emissions. This technology helps mitigate the environmental impact of diesel engines.
How Long Does AdBlue Last? The duration AdBlue lasts depends on your vehicle's tank size and mileage. Different makes and models have varying tank capacities. Your dashboard warning light will indicate when a refill is needed.
How Much AdBlue Does My Car Need? The amount of AdBlue required depends on your vehicle’s tank size and usage. Typically, a diesel car consumes about 1.5 liters of AdBlue every 620 miles. If you need assistance, visit your local Lloyd retail centre for guidance from our expert service team.
What Happens If You Run Out of AdBlue? Running out of AdBlue can cause a loss of power or prevent your vehicle from starting. Promptly refill when alerted by the dashboard warning light.
